DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Southeast Training Installation Specialist
Department: Sales
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday
Facility location: Chester, CT: Must be in/relocate to: Florida/Georgia Remote

SUMMARY:

Responsible for delivering and facilitating installation training programs in the Southeast region. Collaborate with Training Manager, Training Specialist(s), and other Training Installation Specialist(s) to develop, improve and maintain training curriculum.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Regional Sales Manager(s), Field Solution Engineer(s), and the training team.
  • Install Whelen product following company best practices.
  • Assist distributors in completing contractual obligations.
  • In collaboration with the training team, create and enhance training material to ensure accuracy and ensure the material reflects the best practices to support the overall current market requirements.
  • Maintain mastery level of understanding of all flagship products, systems and policies required for effective training.
  • Lead small group instruction, both virtually and in person.
  • Make regularly scheduled service calls on assigned customers in your territory.
  • Perform installs, maintenance, and repairs for customers in your territory.
  • Develop and troubleshoot Whelen Command programs virtually and in the field.
  • Assemble and disassemble trade show booths as needed.
  • Develop ongoing relationships with distrubutors, significant end-users and dealers.
  • Obtain and interpret feedback of results to determine if the training was effective, and to identify opportunities to improve materials, coursework, and results.
  • Participate in activities including continued education that look at new processes, systems, etc., to support corporate initiatives with an eye towards identifying opportunities to improve training and the impact.
  • Must live in territory.
  • Additional job duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Installation or Upfitting.
  • Must have experience building full vehicles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent presentation and time management skills required.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Must be self-motivated, innovative, and flexible.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to travel domestically (up to 70%)
  • Knowledge and experience working on emergency vehicles (preferred).
  • Automotive and/or emergency warning industry experience (preferred).
  • EVT and/or MECP certified (preferred).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to stand and speak for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds unassisted.
  • Clean driver’s license.
  • Ability to use power tools.
