Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Spa Receptionist plays a key role in welcoming and assisting guests, while maintaining the set service standards. They possess comprehensive knowledge of treatments, services, and current spa promotions. They maximize scheduling efficiency, drive revenue, and uphold outstanding guest service. Receptionists provide support to the Spa Manager and maintain the visual appearance of the spa reception area.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of all spa treatments and salon services.
  • Ability to function well under pressure, set priorities and adjust to changing conditions.

  • Knowledge of Windows based computer systems and software.
  • Must be able to learn the POS booking system and handle all cashiering transactions in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Must be flexible with schedule – Able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Ability to tolerate a close-knit environment with constant team member involvement.
  • Must be knowledgeable of daily “stand-ups” and actively participate in daily goals.
  • Must be able to work well with other team members and other departments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • High school Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a spa/salon position or customer service job.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred

  • Hotel experience required.

Note: Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience.

Balancing

Hearing

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for knowing all spa services, pricing, and other services provided by the spa.
  • Assists guests with spa reservations and handles guest check in/outs in an efficient and friendly manner.
  • Must use proper telephone etiquette, including answering all guests’ questions in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Responsible for serving guests in a timely manner, while maintaining high level guest service standards.
  • Assists guests with the booking of spa reservations, ensuring guest preferences are noted in guest profile.
  • Provides friendly, courteous and professional service to all guests in a timely manner.
  • Initiates and engages in conversations in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Schedules appointments accurately.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Restocks retail items and helps maintain a clean and visually appealing spa retail area.
  • Collects all payments for spa services, including spa products and goods; balances all monies at the end of a shift to ensure accurate accounting of all transactions.
  • Always demonstrates a pleasant and enthusiastic demeanor.
  • Updates and maintains guest information in client profiles.
  • Attends all required training activities (both live and computer-based) and incorporates information learned into daily work activities.
  • Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.
