Do you have experience with Flight Operations as a member of the Flight Control Teams (FCT) and have worked with office automation tools, including MS-EXCEL and MS-ACCESS?
You could be our new Spacecraft Analyst and joinout team at to support our customer EUMETSAT located in Darmstadt, Germany.

JOB DESCRIPTION

For our exciting and challenging opening as Spacecraft Analysts we are looking for dynamic, energetic, and highly motivated coleagues to join our team.
As Spacecraft Analyst you will familiarise with the missions you will support and in particular with the procedures and tools that are needed to perform the routine Spacecraft control operations.
You may be required to develop and install suitable tools to allow the efficient execution of the operational tasks, also, You will analyse the system operations and to prepare procedures. Participation in test campaigns and simulations and arrange for the participation of the controllers may be required. You will conduct regular operational readiness training and simulations with controllers (proficiency training) and will support the relevant Flight Operations as a member of the Flight Control Teams (FCT) during ground segment development and validation and flight nominal and contingency operations. This includes the following tasks:

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree level/equivalent in Computer Science or Aerospace Engineering with significant software content or sufficient practical experience in the relevant field
  • Good experience with office automation tools, including MS-EXCEL and MS-ACCESS (use of functions, queries, macros, reports, input forms, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the Linux environment including interactive shells, shell scripting and Python 3
  • Programming experience (Python, VB, VBA, JavaScript). Visual Basic and/or SQL/Web development is beneficial.
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server) and relational database management systems (RDBMS)
  • Good communication skills and team spirit
  • Good knowledge of the English language, both in speech and writing
  • Experience with the European Ground Systems (Spacecraft control systems) – Common Core (EGS-CC) and SCOS-2000 is desirable.

Responsibilities:

As Spacecraft Analyst you will concentrate your activities on the following:

  • Maintain spacecraft and ground segment operational databases, related tools, procedures, and documentation under strict configuration control
  • Develop and maintain any small SW tool (MS-EXCEL, MS-ACCESS, Visual Basics) that may be required for efficient and effective conduct of flight planning and preparation tasks
  • Organising, training, ensuring the operational readiness of the Spacecrat Controllers, assigned to the mission, in collaboration with other Spacecraft Analysts
  • Collect information and data regarding mission performance and provide inputs for mission reports
  • Provide spacecraft control support during special operations when the assigned Spacecraft Controller (SPACONs) complement is insufficient to meet mission requirements (this task is expected to be necessary only for very limited periods of time)
  • Applying configuration control procedures for documentation in use for all operational tasks and duties under your supervision.
  • Support the generation of operational reports based on inputs from other FCT members.
  • Responsibility for the transmission and tracking of operational instructions to the SPACON team, ensuring their compliance.
  • Consolidate and archive telemetry data
  • Contribute to routine mission plan generation, as required
  • Support the development and integration logic for flight operations, data processing centers, services, and operational interfaces
  • Participation to LEOPs and Simulation campaigns
  • Validate and maintain the NDIU systems for SVTs and LEOPs
  • Introduction and maintenance of appropriate working practises and procedures for routine and problem reporting, data analysis, recording and maintenance of system status, recording of operational activities.
