Our staff are our superpower at Sommerville School. We provide an incredibly nurturing and dynamic learning environment for our 360+ neuro-diverse learners, aged 5–21 years, in the base school (Panmure) satellite units in 13 mainstream schools and a community programme for 18-21 year olds in Highland Park. Our 300 team of educators, therapists, specialists and teacher aides work together in a multi-disciplinary approach to meet the individual needs of every learner, with personalised learning programmes.

We aren’t concerned if you haven’t had experience in a specialist school environment before because what we are looking for most of all is a positive “can do” attitude, a passion for working with neuro-diverse learners and a desire to make a real impact for learners. The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Primary Teachers’ Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers for 2025 currently ranges from $61,329 - $103,086, depending on your qualifications and experience. Your base salary will be established by a salary assessment once you have been appointed.
This position commences in Term 1 2025, or as negotiated. School visits are welcome. We may appoint someone prior to the deadline so get your CV in now!
