Responsibilities:

POSITION PURPOSE

Reporting to the Director, Research Strategic Initiatives (Security), the Analyst is responsible for the implementation of business intelligence initiatives supporting strategic operations of the Office of Vice President Research and Innovation and the uOttawa research community. The incumbent must ensure precise and reliable strategic information is available to stakeholders, have a solid understanding of the research performance indicators, business operations, University’s IT systems and priorities. As an expert in the use of business intelligence tools, the incumbent proposes and implements solutions with a few to support improved decision-making. Finally, the incumbent provides guidance and advice to clients in order to align technology solutions with business objectives and requirements.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Provide professional expertise, analyze business and strategic needs and recommend sound and justified business intelligence solutions to help monitor quantitative data on the University’s research portfolio, solve business problems, and assist in determining technical, operational and economic feasibility.
  • Provide quantitative processes/data analysis and prepare documentation for senior management and faculty administrators which explain data sources, trends, and comparisons related to strategic research performance indicators.
  • Ensure successful delivery of reporting as required by executives and managers to serve operational and strategic management of research. Ensure data quality and integrity, and design reports that help users gain insights and make fact-based business decisions.
