Description:
This key role is providing diagnostic assessments for adults who have been referred for a autism assessment.
The post holder will be supported to further develop knowledge and skills at local, regional and National levels.
The post holder will contribute to research, audit activities and deliver evidence based autism assessments within the context of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency team.
This is a fixed term contract for 6 months due to funding
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency team fostering good communications with autistic people, their carers and colleagues of all disciplines in relation to person centred care and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Provide diagnostic assessment for adults. In line with NICE guidance, implement specialist assessment skills and diagnostic tools to determine whether an individual meets the diagnostic threshold for ASD.
Provide specialist reports as required e.g. diagnostic assessment reports and ensure they are formulated and shared in accordance with local policy.
Provide specialist advice/consultation to carers and other professionals.
Formulate plans for the support and management of autistic adults needs, using the best available evidence and resources, in consultation with the team’s Clinical Lead.
