Description:

We have Vacancy for a Biomedical Scientist Band 6 in Haematology, in one of the largest NHS-led Pathology Services in the South of England. We are seeking a highly skilled candidate with significant experience in antenatal haemoglobinopathy screening.
Applicants MUST have HCPC registration and relevant NHS laboratory experience.
Berkshire & Surrey Pathology Services - (A joint venture with Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Ashford & St Peters Hospitals NHS Trust, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust).

DIMENSIONS OF JOB:

They will liaise closely with the line manager in providing a high quality technical service that builds on the standards defined by the UKAS and ISO 15189:2022. They will be expected to develop and maintain close working relationships with all grades of staff both technical and medical to ensure the effective delivery of the technical service.

Financial & Management
To make best use of consumables and reagents in an efficient manner.
To highlight to senior staff where improvements may be made that will decrease our costs and/or improve service delivery
Personnel & Training
To be involved in the robust and effective CPD / appraisal processes across BSPS.
To train, supervise and aid in the development of other BMS grades, trainee BMS and support workers, and direct their duties as requested by senior staff.
To participate in job experience and recruiting schemes by representing the Trust, Department and Profession at and within these events.
