About your next challenge as Specialist, Contract Administrator:

The Specialist, Contract Administrator reports to the Manager of Contracts. They are mainly responsible for:

  • influencing successful business outcomes in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income and free cash flow for new and continuing programs;
  • Providing business, contractual and risk mitigation strategy guidance;
  • Analyzing new laws, regulations and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives;
  • Protecting the interest of the company by understanding and interpreting contractual terms and conditions;
  • Analyzing significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and corporate policies and procedures;
  • Managing the contractual review of solicitations, proposal development, contract change control process and overall contract administration;
  • Establishing and maintaining primary contractual interface with the customer;
  • Maximizing cash through innovative contract formation and negotiation to achieve business objectives.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience;
  • Strong negotiations skills and knowledge of company legal terms and conditions;
  • Bilingual, French and English (oral and written);
  • Business acumen and strong business writing skill;

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with development contracts, production, sustainment, and services;
  • Previous experience within the aerospace industry;
  • Contract administration experience with military, international, domestic and US Government;
  • Strong negotiations skills and experience including terms and conditions, requirements, pricing, IP, data rights, etc.;
  • Proficient in providing risk mitigation plans to programs related to source selection;
  • Able to work and communicate effectively across functions;
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment, able to meet deadlines and expectations, able to multi- task.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Responsibilities:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Upon receiving requests to bid, review proposed terms and conditions to identify contractual and legal implications and provide appropriate comments to management;
  • Ensure that risks in each project are covered by terms and conditions;
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of each contract and document each step;
  • Write contractual clauses and various project administration correspondence;
  • Manage large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
  • Communicate within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.
  • Make significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.
  • Explain, interpret, and gain cooperation on policies, procedures and practices.
  • Provide input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
