Description:

Summary
The Corporate Partnerships Specialist is a passionate relationship builder and strategic thinker who will lead DWC’s corporate engagement efforts, including corporate contributions, sponsorships, and employee-directed giving. Part of the Development team and reporting directly to the Director of Institutional Giving, this position is an essential part of the team that secures resources to support the Center’s ongoing operations. Essential Functions

Fundraising and Portfolio Management

  • Solicit donations, sponsorships, in-kind items, matching gifts, and other contributions from corporate and community partners and prospective funders. Contribute to fundraising goals for revenue lines including business contributions and sponsorships, corporate matching gifts, and third-party events.
  • Develop engagement strategies to grow DWC’s revenue from a portfolio of corporate donors. Get to know representatives from corporate partners and engage them in as many ways as possible.
  • Provide regular reports to DWC’s Board of Directors and leadership on DWC’s institutional donor engagement. Work with the Institutional Giving team to ensure that metrics related to our partners are accurately tracked. Maintain up to date information about institutional donors in DWC’s donor database.
  • Collaborate with the Grants team to identify grant prospects resulting from funder conversations and cultivate relationships with institutional donors.
  • Serve as a contact for third-party events, including communicating with local businesses, companies, and individuals interested in donating proceeds or hosting an event to support DWC; reviewing third-party event applications and securing MOUs from partners; and communicating expectations for event publicity and DWC’s involvement.

Donor Engagement and Stewardship

  • Lead agency tours, educating supporters on women’s homelessness and DWC’s approach.
  • Engage corporate partners through volunteerism, in partnership with the Community Relations Specialist.
  • Speak at community and corporate events to engage the community in DWC’s work and attract new donors and volunteers. Be well-versed on our brand and communications strategies, effectively representing the agency and issues surrounding women’s homelessness in the community.
  • Promote corporate matching gifts and maintain up to date information about volunteer opportunities on corporate engagement platforms, such as Benevity.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to publicize relevant partnerships, including featuring DWC’s institutional partners in our newsletter and social media.
  • Provide additional assistance as needed with activities that further Development activities and priorities.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This position would also require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Office hours are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in fundraising, volunteer management, corporate social responsibility, or philanthropy.
  • Demonstrated record as a successful team player, including the ability to develop and maintain a goal-oriented, positive attitude throughout the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of building meaningful relationships.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including comfort with public speaking.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills. Ability to meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail amidst competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with donor, volunteer, or other databases, or tracking and reporting data.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

  • Must be a CA resident and live no more than 80 miles from DWC; must be available for in-person meetings at DWC
  • Must provide documentation of a negative TB test result within the last twelve months, on first day of hire
  • You will be required to be up to date on your vaccinations against COVID-19 and provide documentation. If you are fully vaccinated and not yet eligible to receive a booster dose, then you must receive the booster dose within 30 days of becoming eligible and eligibility begins 5 months after receiving the final primary dose. If you are fully vaccinated and have received a booster dose, you are considered up to date with your vaccinations. Unvaccinated individuals must receive their 1st dose before their first day of hire. Partially vaccinated (for 2-dose series) individuals must receive their 2nd dose within 30 days of being hired. The second dose of a two-dose vaccine series is due 4 weeks after the primary dose.

Pay Range
$26.44 - 31.25/hour
