Description:
The Specialist Healthcare Scientist in Cellular and Molecular Pathology acts in a specialised scientific role in the development and provision of a range of specialist tests for the diagnosis, monitoring and predictive profiling of patients with benign and malignant disorders. They act in a specialised scientific role to co-ordinate, analyse, interpret, and report (where appropriate) a range of specialist investigations conducted from within and outside of the department Part of a team responsible for the processing all the samples received each day, this includes performing a wide range of tests. Help to maintain the turnaround times for all patient samples. Analyse and interpret laboratory results and take appropriate actions in line with laboratory policies and procedures Assist in the participation in appropriate internal, regional, national and international quality control schemes relevant to the specialist service.
Participate in the development of the service to include the introduction of new techniques and pathway
