QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive NDI Experience:
  • A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI), particularly in roles that involve high levels of responsibility and decision-making authority. Your experience should include a deep understanding of NDI processes, methodologies, and standards, particularly in the context of aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Specialization in Composites Manufacturing:
  • Strong background in working with composite materials is essential. This includes a thorough understanding of the unique challenges associated with inspecting and ensuring the quality of composite structures. Experience in a composites manufacturing environment will be highly valued, particularly where complex NDI techniques are applied to advanced materials.
  • Certification in NDI Techniques:
  • Certification to NDI Level 2-3 in key techniques such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Penetrant Testing (PT) from recognized professional bodies like NAS410, EN4179, or an equivalent standard. This certification demonstrates your proficiency and expertise in critical NDI methods, and your ability to lead and mentor others in these areas.
  • Comprehensive Knowledge of Composite Materials:
  • In-depth understanding of composite materials, including their properties, fabrication processes, and common failure mechanisms. This knowledge is critical for effectively applying NDI techniques to assess the integrity and quality of composite structures.
  • Experience with NDI Procedure Development:
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing NDI procedures that meet industry standards and customer requirements. Your experience should include writing and revising NDI protocols, as well as leading efforts to ensure these procedures are followed rigorously in practice.

Responsibilities:

TEAM AND ROLE

The Responsible Level 3 at Terma is a critical leadership position within the Quality Assurance department, specifically focused on Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) processes. This role serves as the ultimate authority on NDI activities, ensuring that all operations adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. As the Responsible Level 3, you will play a pivotal role in upholding Terma’s reputation for excellence in the aerospace and defense sectors by ensuring that our NDI practices meet or exceed industry benchmarks and customer expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Quality Assurance Leadership:
  • Lead and oversee all NDI operations, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality. Implement quality control measures, manage audits, and maintain certifications. Hold final authority in interpreting NDI test results and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our processes.
  • Certification and Training Management:
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive certification and training process for NDI personnel. Ensure all certifications align with industry standards, and lead efforts to maintain a highly skilled and compliant workforce.
  • Regulatory and Customer Compliance:
  • Guarantee strict adherence to both regulatory and customer requirements. Manage requirement changes in collaboration with other NDI Level 3s and engage with customers and suppliers for qualifications, technical consultations, and requirement clarifications.
  • Innovation and Improvements:
  • Stay ahead of technological advancements in NDI by leading efforts to implement new technologies and upgrade equipment. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and safety of NDI processes.
  • Safety and Risk Management:
  • Collaborate with the Health, Safety, & Environment (HS&E) department to ensure safety in NDI operations. Conduct risk assessments and guide the team in implementing safety measures and process improvements.
