CN’s network and technologies across North America:
Is composed of all types of communications media including fiber, copper, cell, wireless and microwave.
Is composed of more than 8000 Cisco routers and switches, more than 700 access points and 700 Nokia MPLS service routers.

JOB SUMMARY

The role of Specialist Network/Telecom is a highly technical position with in-depth subject matter expertise. The role is responsible to ensure the overall availability, stability, performance and integrity of CN’s network and telecom infrastructure, and as such must constantly work towards improving the monitoring, security, and performance of the environment. One of the main goals of the Operation Specialist is to focus on system growth, capacity planning and to deliver automation functionalities to optimize support tasks. The Operation Specialist is responsible for design review and acceptance, complex Incident and Problem Management; training and mentoring, as well as providing 3rd level support.
CN is looking for a self-starter who can rapidly analyze situations, and decisively take justifiable actions. Some travel may be required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent. Telecommunications specialization preferred.
  • 5+ years in IT with a minimum of 3+ years of demonstrated experience in providing hands-on technical expertise within large corporate environments.
  • Expertise in LAN/WAN technologies, IPAM.
  • Expertise in Datacenter technologies (Leaf and spine technology).
  • Knowledge and troubleshooting skills in EIGRP, IS-IS, BGP, MP-BGP, MPLS, redistribution between different routing protocols.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP stack, IPv4, TCP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, GRE, IPSEC, ESP, NAT, DHCP, DNS, FHRPs, QoS, SNMP, Tacacs, Radius.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Wi-Fi networks, including Cisco Prime, WLCs, APs, ISE and all related technologies.
  • Experience/knowledge in SD-WAN solutions
  • Knowledge in cloud solutions (Google, Azure)
  • Experience and knowledge in operations and optimization of IP networks.
  • Good understanding of communications media (fibre, copper, wireless) and structured cabling best practices.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Cisco CCNP/CCIE Certification or equivalent knowledge.
