Description:

An opportunity has become available for a motivated individual to join the Hull and East Riding Community Stroke Service to provide specialist assessment and rehabilitation to Stroke Survivors living in the Hull and East Riding area. This service is provided by a multidisciplinary team comprised of Specialist Stroke Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Associate Practitioners and Administrative support.
The team provides specialist stroke rehabilitation, using a goal setting approach. The service in Hull is offered over 7 days however, the service in the East Riding is offered over 5 days. In–patient rehabilitation is provided via beds in our Community Stroke Unit, whilst community-based therapy continues in the patient’s own home. This post will be rotational across the community and bedded areas.
We work closely with our colleagues in Hull and East Riding Social Services. The team has an innovative approach and worked with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to develop pioneering creative music making as therapy for stroke survivors.
Mentorship and supervision are provided by the senior staff within a friendly, multidisciplinary, supportive environment. The ability to commute within the Trusts geographical area with access to the appropriate means of transport is essential.
For informal enquiries, please contact Anna Marritt, Operations Manager (anna.marritt@nhs.net) or Clare Nicholson Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist (clarenicholson1@nhs.net), on 01482 303669. Please do not ring this number for application packages.
