Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a band 7 occupational therapist in our neurosciences team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. If you are passionate about working with neurological patients in a varied acute role, this is the job for you.
This is a static band 7 Occupational Therapy post that supports a large team across neurosurgery and neurology wards as well as a neuro outlier’s service. It is a permanent post is based at Charing Cross Hospital. Our Occupational Therapists are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary teams and provide expert skills for our neurological patients. This post would suit an Occupational Therapist who would like to develop skills in leadership and team management while continuing to develop their neuro specialist clinical skills. We also have other band 7 OT fixed term contract opportunities available in our stroke team at Charing Cross Hospital and major trauma team at Saint Mary’s Hospital.
To support the provision of neuro occupational therapy assessment and treatment of patients with acute, chronic, and life-limiting conditions to enable optimum functioning. You will have access to a wide neuro specialist medical team to discuss complex cases to optimize patient care.
To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management and those of more junior staff. Enabling the provision of a comprehensive and appropriate occupational therapy service to stroke and neuro-trauma patients.
To provide leadership to the in-patient neurosciences team alongside other band 7 neuro specialist OTs and the clinical therapy leads.
To support service development within the team and present a positive and inspirational role model for all team members.
To develop close working relationships and service links with the Clinical Team Lead Therapists from our other services. You will be part of the band 7 peer group for OTs working within neurosciences which consists of four large teams (neuro rehabilitation, stroke, neurology & neurosurgery and major trauma).
