General Duties of a Pediatrician in a Medical Center
1. Patient Care:
- Perform physical exams and monitor growth and development milestones.
- Diagnose and treat illnesses, infections, injuries, and other health conditions specific to children.
2. Preventive Care:
- Administer vaccinations and ensure children follow recommended immunization schedules.
- Provide guidance on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle choices for healthy development.
3. Health Monitoring:
- Track developmental milestones such as speech, motor skills, and cognitive abilities.
- Identify and address behavioral or developmental disorders early.
4. Managing Chronic Conditions:
- Treat and manage long-term illnesses such as asthma, diabetes, or allergies.
- Collaborate with specialists for complex conditions.
5. Parental Education:
- Advise parents on child safety, hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Address concerns about behavior, school performance, and social interactions.
6. Collaboration and Referrals:
- Work with other medical professionals such as specialists, therapists, and dietitians.
- Refer patients to specialists for advanced care when necessary.
7. Emergency Care:
- Provide immediate care for acute illnesses or injuries.
