Description:
Main Responsibilities: Leadership To provide expertise and leadership on all pharmacy matters to ensure medicines are effectively managed across the organisation in line with national standards, best practice, and CQC regulations. Management of medicines: To provide expert pharmacy leadership ensuring effective policies and process are in place to ensure safe and effective use of medication across all services. To provide advice and support to the Medical Director, Chief Nurse, and other clinicians to ensure the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medicines. To ensure Independent Health Group have safe and effective processes in place for the safe management of medicines, ensure compliance with current legislation and professional standards.
To ensure Independent Health Group has the relevant policies and processes and these are adhered to. Ensure any incidents involving medications are managed and appropriate actions taken. Leading improvement workstreams as required. To maintain registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) fulfilling the continued professional development, ensuring any specialist training requirements are kept up to date.
To actively contribute to clinical governance initiatives and developments. Provide training related to medicines management as required. To undergo annual individual performance review. Communication To liaise closely with other healthcare professionals in relation to patient care related to any matters relating to medicines management/.
To act as a source of expertise for stakeholders on issues relating to medicines management To maintain patient confidentiality and always meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act. To attend and actively contribute to Clinical Review meetings
