Description:

We have an exciting opportunity within the Trauma Directorate seeking an autonomous and highly motivated Plastics Trauma Nurse Practitioner / Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to excel within this specialist field of trauma nursing. The successful candidate must have an excellent plastics knowledge base, be clinically expert and excel to high standards to ensure timely, compassionate and expert care and flow through the patient’s journey.
The post holder will have joint responsibility for coordinating patient flow for Plastics, hand trauma and frames from admission, scheduling of plastic trauma cases, facilitating efficient theatre list and patient flow through to discharge, reducing beds days within the speciality. Due to the complexity of the plastics speciality, this role is essential in promoting quality and safety across the patient’s journey both in the base ward and across outlying wards.
This post holder will also be responsible for the development and implementation of standards and protocols to ensure optimum patient pathways, improved patient outcomes and staff education both in the base ward and on outlying wards across the wider division.
The post holder will also be responsible for facilitating nurse led plastics dressing clinics.
