JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Procurement Specialist is a critical member of the PRISM Purchasing team and will be responsible for centrally purchasing medications and equipment for clinics as required. This position requires advanced time management skills, problem solving skills, excellent customer service, a high level of professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. This position maintains a positive working relationship with our Suppliers/Vendors along with multiple departments within DaVita.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required)
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree
- Interest in Procurement, Project Management, Supply Chain, Sourcing, or Purchasing/Buying
- Working knowledge of Oracle iProcurement, Coupa, or Purchasing systems/applications strongly preferred
- Basic knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.
- Place purchase orders, follow up, track and/or expedite to ensure deliveries meet targeted operation dates
- Keep centralized purchasing job aids up to date
- Maintain open communication with internal stakeholders
- Build and develop positive working relationships with the team, teammates and vendors
- Attend and actively participate in calls with business partners
- Frequent communication with vendors via phone and email to ensure order accuracy and timely delivery dates
- Ability to work on multiple priorities and responsibilities simultaneously
- Help implement department process improvements
- Support, provide guidance, and educate teammates on current processes and procedures, as well as on-going changes
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to:
- Work overtime with little or no notice as needed
- Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed
- Participate in company meetings and conference calls as required
- Assist with coverage during staffing shortages and leaves of absence
- Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures
- Consistent, regular, punctual attendance as scheduled is an essential responsibility of this position
- Occasional travel for team meetings
