Engineering
To build and maintain efficient solutions.
The position is focused on proficiency using Python and its latest toolset, working with the ecosystem, and continuity looking at improving and implementing relevant technologies with a big drive towards data migration, automation, and efficient process management.
Proficient skills in Python, Flask, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Docker, Rancher, Jenkins, and MongoDB.
The successful candidate will be expected to drive their solution end-to-end and deliver high-quality tested code.
To ensure that the Team maintains critical legacy systems that enable business continuity on a day-to-day basis and support incidents that require quick technical fixes.
To provide the correct outputs, on time with the necessary documentation.
Continuously looking forward, improving the current environments, and ensuring operational changes are aligned with the project strategies for legacy systems.
Always keep the teams and overall company values in your everyday work tasks.
Required key Skills ( functional/technical) are OOP Python, Pandas, Flask, SQL involving PostgreSQL Databases, Docker, CI/CD using Jenkins, Git and Bash, and Rancher.
Proactive and accountable Python Developer to take initiative, drive results, and be responsible for outcomes.
Quick analytical thinking and sound judgment enable you to understand and tackle system issues that occur when migrating a legacy code base.
Effective communication and documentation is critical.
People
Conduct peer reviews, testing, problem solving within and across the broader team
Support the people change teams in the development of user material (Customer, Employee & 3rd Party Adoption).
Risk & Governance
Identify technical risks and mitigate these (pre, during & post-release)
Update / Design all application documentation aligned to the organization’s technical standards and risk/governance frameworks
Participate in incident management & DR activity – applying critical thinking, problem solving & technical expertise to get to the bottom of major incidents.
Required qualifications/experience:
BSC in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field.
+5 years’ experience in SQL and Python
Min 4 years in working with databases, especially PostgreSQL
AWS experience is beneficial
Frontend (HTML, JavaScript/ TypeScript, Angular) experience is beneficial
Experience in setting up and deploying applications to run in docker (optional including Kubernetes)
Experience in monitoring and optimizing Python applications with different levels of logs.
Some experience in working in a multiple team and stakeholder organizations.
Some experience in the financial insurance services industry experience (Advantageous)
Education
Bachelor’s Degree: Information Technology
