Are you a Specialist Reservoir Engineer looking for a new challenge? We are looking for a collaborative self-starter to join our team to ensure stakeholder and business expectations are met, safely, successfully, and in a cost-effective manner.
Reporting to the Manager Firebag Reservoir Development the candidate will be responsible to safely and sustainably, maximize development of Firebag bitumen resource. The candidate will also have an opportunity to support other In Situ assets in the same capacity.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analytical evaluations and Numerical reservoir simulation to guide investment decisions and operations and development strategies
  • Production forecasting for SAGD well pads to support budgeting, planning, new technology implementation, and other projects.
  • Prepare regulatory submissions
  • Reservoir Engineering support may include PTA, or SCAL to guide investment decisions and development strategies, as well as to frame risks, opportunities, and uncertainties.
  • Collaboration with Geoscience, Production Engineering, Development, Process Engineering, Regulatory, Upstream Projects, Drilling & Completions, Operations Services, and others to evaluate projects
  • Provide technical support for numerous subsurface technology projects in various stages of development
  • Develop and improve technical processes

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience
  • B.Sc. in Engineering
  • Registered or immediately eligible for registration, with the association of professional engineers and geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
  • Reservoir Engineering skillset including competency with numerical reservoir simulation
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Candidate with previous In Situ experience and a subsurface technical skillset required
  • A self sufficient working knowledge with numerical reservoir simulationCross-functional collaboration skills able to work with diverse disciplines and perspectives

Working Conditions

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Our engineering roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based on years of experience and scope of work
