Description:

We are seeking a Specialist Screening Practitioner (Bowel Cancer) to join the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Bowel Cancer Screening Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of highly motivated, professional staff who take pride in providing excellent services for our patients.
The post holder will work under the supervision of the lead nurse and will provide the highest standard of care and support for patients participating in the national Bowel Cancer Screening programme.
They will have responsibility for assessing, informing and supporting individuals throughout the screening pathway. Varied work includes providing nurse-led clinics, attending colonoscopy lists, communicating results to patients and other health care professionals and collecting and inputting screening data into a dedicated IT system.
Provide specialist clinics for patients who have a positive FIT test result across the four Trusts
Advise the patient and assess their suitability for colonoscopy and obtain informed consent
Be present at dedicated screening colonoscopy lists across the Trusts
Co-ordinate and provide care and supporting the patient through the BCS clinical pathway.
Attend MDT meetings
Work collaboratively with the hub to ensure all positive FIT results are scheduled to enable a flexible service delivery to achieve waiting times and clinical activity targets.
Complete the Bowel Cancer Screening System database and local database to allow effective monitoring and quality assurance of the programme.
