Description:

Are you an SLT looking to be part of an experienced team that have recently been awarded with significant investment? Or a band 5 looking for a new challenge and to develop your skills in a specialist area? Then join Our Dorset Stroke and Neuro Service.
Our integrated community stroke and neuro team is AHP lead and will provide various pathways including supported self-management, advice with signposting, intensive rehabilitation (ESD), complex management and reviews. You will be working in a multidisciplinary team including social work, neuropsychology, and opportunities for advanced practice. You will have access to a wide range of specialists with many years of experience who can help to increase your opportunities for learning and development of skills.
This SLT post post is a part time role of 22.5 hours covering both West Dorset locality. We will consider applications from new graduates and developing band 6’s. Hours can be met flexibly. Our service is a 6-day service currently but will be 7 days in future (one weekend in 6). We promote hybrid working with mixed caseload of community, base and working from home.

To provide a high quality person centred approach to speech and language therapy care delivery which always considers people’s safety, privacy and dignity.
To provide specialist speech and language therapy care and interventions, assessments, treatments and managing patients on a caseload, as part of the wider multi-disciplinary care team.
To provide specialist speech and language therapy advice to others regarding the management and care of patients / service users.
To devise specialist speech and language therapy programmes of care for other professionals to deliver and ensure they are delivered appropriately.
To plan, implement and review health improvement programmes in a range of settings.
Provide supervision, mentorship, training and clinical support to students and trained practitioners.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
