ABOUT US
The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, United and SNC-Lavalin. Shoreline Power Group will be completing the Fuel Channel and Feeder Replacement (FCFR) project. The joint venture has been awarded a contract by Bruce Power to execute the Unit 6, 3, 4, 5, 7 & 8 FCFR at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station in Kincardine, Ontario.
This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064, the project is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program to replace the main components of the reactor. Unit 3 is the reactor being replaced by Bruce Power through the MCR program. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders for Unit Unit 3, 4, 5, 7 & 8 as well as construction management and trade labor.
The Senior Quality Specialist reports to the Project Quality Manager and will be responsible for the development of quality associated documentation and processes which comply with customer, contract, technical specifications, Code and local jurisdictional requirements. The Quality Specialist will work closely with Project Management and will be responsible to assist with the development of Comprehensive Work Packages (CWP’s) which includes development of Construction, Inspection & Test Plans (CITP’s).
This development work will be performed in accordance with Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP) and a Project Execution Plan. The Quality Specialist shall identify, and report quality problems and problems related to the effective implementation of the PQMP.
The Quality Specialist is responsible to identify verification, examination, testing requirements. The Quality Specialist shall have direct access to a level of management necessary to ensure that appropriate quality assurance and quality control requirements are implemented. The Quality Specialist is responsible:
- Quality planning and preparation of deliverables
- Schedule other Quality Specialists for planned QA surveillance activities. Gather results of surveillances and report results
- Support with development of inspection procedures
- To support Project Site Team on matters pertaining to quality
- To report conditions affecting quality to the Project Quality Manager
- Developing the Inspection, Examination & Testing steps and strategically inserting them in the CITP
- Working collaboratively with the FE, Project Coordinator & Trade Supervisor to complete the CITP or CITP Addendum
- Working collaboratively with Project Coordinators to complete the CWP
- Review of History Dockets and History Files from Suppliers
- Preparation of History Docket / History File Packages
- Assist with the review of purchase requisitions
- Assist with the disposition of NCR’s
- Assist with implementation of actions associated with documented Corrective Action Reports
- Coaching and directing the Quality Specialist
