Devops & Support

Application Monitoring & Performance Management

  • Integration and Support: Responsible for integrating systems with various networks across Africa, particularly in telecom environments. This involves handling complex technical tasks like managing PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases, and supporting Java-based applications. His role also includes maintaining legacy systems and migrating them to modern infrastructure.
  • Platform Management: Manages platforms such as Open Accounts, IMX, and risk assessment tools. This involves both support and limited development work, particularly in environments where the backend is often managed by third-party vendors.
  • Basic Automation: Writing Ansible playbooks and using Jenkins for deployments

Key critical requirements:

  • Attend to Start Of Day (SOD) and End of Day (EOD) monitoring on PROD systems.
  • Conduct ongoing configuration, optimization (e.g. upgrades) & maintenance activity (e.g. regular maintenance patches) on our application.
  • Conduct Managing DR testing, including continued development of the application and security, software patches, reliability, disaster recovery
  • Conduct Day to day support on applications interacting with the business stakeholders.

Experience:

  • 5 years in Applications Support
  • 5 years TECHNOLOGY experience
  • Preferred some experience within Absa
