We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team! Reporting to our Pay Master, this role is for someone who wants to have impact not just in payroll but on the overall HR strategy.

ABOUT US:

Responsibilities:

  • Process Canadian and U.S. payroll for salaried and hourly employees with a high degree of accuracy and strict adherence to
  • Follow up on timesheet approvals with Managers.
  • Calculate, update and monitor various databases (vacations, sick days, banked time) and see that the pay system accurately matches them.
  • Produce various reports and pay journals.
  • Implement changes to comply with new regulations and payroll management best practices.
  • Manage the administrative side of things: data entry, termination forms, etc.
  • Enter modifications related to salaries, collective insurance and pension plan.
  • Manage insurance, telemedicine and RRSP enrolment.
  • Participate in month-end, quarter-end and year-end activities, and respond to requests from external auditors.
  • Manage the payroll mailbox and respond to requests from employees and managers.
  • Prepare annual reports for fiscal purposes.
  • Produce the company’s yearly overall training spending report.
  • Analyse and develop continuous improvement solutions as needed.
  • Participate in special projects, such as implementation and update of payroll related systems.
