Description:
We are looking for a senior trainee or post CCT specialty surgeon to join our colorectal department for 6-12 months. Additionally, the role offers exposure to a stepwise learning curve, including the opportunity to acquire skills in robotic TAPP inguinal and ventral hernia repairs and learning the fundamentals of robotic TAR and parastomal hernia repairs. This structured approach ensures progressive learning and mastery of advanced techniques in abdominal wall reconstruction.

The successful candidate will be encouraged to publish and present at local and international meetings. There will be opportunity to gain observership experience at European centres depending on availability and interest. There will be preferential access to robotic simulator training modules and modular hands-on training for both benign and malignant condition
As part of our commitment to patients and delivery of a world class service for all we have created the UHCW Improvement (UHCWi) System in partnership with the Virginia Mason Institute in Seattle; this involves a structured approach to removing waste and putting the patient first using a lean management system and methodologies. Our culture and ways of working reflect and embed the practices and methodologies of UHCWi. You are expected, where identified, to attend and complete relevant training and development opportunities to support this. This may include Lean for Leaders, Advanced Lean Training, and the Human Factors Programme, amongst others.
