Description:

An opportunity is available within the Acute Medicine team for a Specialty Registrar to join the Trust for a fixed-term of 12 months.
The Acute Medicine Department has recently undergone a number of changes. Currently we staff a 28-bedded Adult Assessment Unit which aims to have a length of stay of less than 12 hours. Working in partnership with this area is a 28-bedded Medical Short Stay Unit (Charnley) which provides care for patients with a 72 hour short-stay in hospital.
We are also responsible for a dedicated GP Referral area and Same Day Emergency Care co-located next to the Emergency Department. We have major specialties on site including critical care, geriatric medicine, oncology, general and vascular surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology and paediatrics, and mental health. We access tertiary level services at a regional level for Cardiac PCI, Neurosurgery, Burns, Plastics and TIA/Thrombolysis service out of hours.
You will co-ordinate high-quality, person-centred care for the patients on the ward, ensuring that all patients admitted have a diagnosis and treatment plan, and receive a daily medical review. You will work closely with the medical team and wider multi-disciplinary clinical team to deliver excellent patient care and developments and improvements to service provision.
You should have an interest in Acute Medicine with relevant experience, and must be registered and licensed with the General Medical Council. This post provides an ideal opportunity for you to build on your existing experience and clinical skills. Although this is not a training post, you will be able to access educational sessions and supervision within the hospital to support your professional development.
