JOB SUMMARY
Nua Healthcare Services (Nua) is one of Ireland’s leading Private Healthcare Providers, specialising in Residential and Supported Living Services, to both Children and Adults with a range of complex support needs.
We are seeking applications from energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team for the above positions. The successful candidate will be afforded all necessary training and development in line with the role. Candidates must be highly motivated and creative, with a passion for engaging with Service Users on a daily basis. Candidates will contribute to enriching the lives of our Service Users.
JOB OBJECTIVES
We are seeking applications from energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team for the position of Speech and Language Therapist. The successful candidate will be afforded all necessary training and development in line with the role.
This will include the following on a day-to-day basis:
- Live our Mission, Vision and Values.
- Carrying out assessment and treatment at clinics.
- Using technical equipment to analyse voice patterns and examine the factors involved in producing speech.
- Collaborating with service users, family members, carers and other staff in the setting of treatment.
- Introducing and supporting new ways of working with Staff Teams to prevent future speech and language difficulties.
- Delivering training to Staff Teams, allowing them to help in the SU’s recovery.
- Referring SU to other specialists when necessary/ MDT.
- Liaising with other professionals such as behaviour specialists, psychologists, doctors and ear/nose/throat (ENT) specialists.
- Keeping detailed clinical notes and drafting reports on client symptoms, treatments and progress.
- Teaching exercises to help eliminate speech problems.
- Attending clinics and participating in relevant meetings, case conferences as appropriate.
QUALIFICATION:
- Level 8 Degree in Speech and Language therapy
- Must be a registered member of CORU.
- Qualification in FEDS (Feeding Eating Drinking Swallowing) assessment, treatment and care planning across the above populations.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of standards and legislation relevant to the area.
EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to effectively and concisely communicate with team members, management, external contractors, and any other key business relationships.
SKILLS:
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and judgement
- making critical decisions and recommendations.
- Capable of working within a fast-paced and flexible team.
- Good listener and open to learning from others.
