Speech Language Pathologist, Senior

Provides Speech Language Pathology assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of Speech Language Pathology for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within UPMC Rehabilitation Institute.

• Assist in performance reviews and act as a substitute for leadership roles when needed.
• Actively participate in staff meetings and educational programs.
• Communicate patient status to physicians and healthcare team members.
• Complete charge and statistical information accurately.
• Maintain professional licensure through continuing education.
• Document all Speech Pathology services, including assessments and follow-ups.
• Provide clinical supervision and participate in the clinical education program.
• Serve as an instructor in professional or community education programs.
• Perform diagnostic assessments and develop treatment plans for patients.
• Schedule patients to meet productivity standards while ensuring quality care.
• MS, MEd, OR MA in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience preferred.
• Acute and inpatient experience preferred
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in a specialty area preferred.
• Previous clinical teaching experience preferred.
• Program development experience and ability preferred.
• Six months experience with UPMC Rehabilitation Institute preferred.Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
