Description:
WAITAKERE HOSPITAL, WAITEMATĀ
We are seeking a Speech Language Therapist with an interest/or experience in working in paediatrics to join our Waitemata Community Children’s Team in a full time position. We are open to receiving applications from new graduate and experienced therapists who would love an opportunity to work in a family friendly, committed team whose primary focus is the well-being of the child.
Our Community Child Health Teams (based North Shore and West Auckland) are a group of health professionals that share a passion for paediatrics and are committed to innovative best practice. We practice collaborative care with our families, each other and our community partners – all working together to contribute to positive outcomes for our children and their families in a flexible and compassionate way. We celebrate the strengths of every child and family, holding value in our practice for the roles of whānau in all areas of care.
Our speech language therapists work predominantly with children and their families in the community, but also provide an in-reach service to the paediatric inpatient ward at Waitakere Hospital and the Special Care Baby Units. We are also looking at ways to utilise outpatient clinics for seeing non-complex community cases. As a new speech language therapist in our team, we would work closely with you to support your integration and ongoing learning across the varying models of care we provide.
To be considered for this role you will need to have:
- A strong passion for working with children and families
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to working across both teams as needed
- A current NZSTA membership and APC, and
- A current drivers licence
