ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Spinal Fellow, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality clinical care to both inpatients and outpatients, under the guidance of the Head of Unit and Senior Spinal Unit consultants. This is a unique opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience while directly contributing to the day-to-day clinical management of spinal patients. You will also mentor and oversee the clinical practice of Resident Medical Officers and Interns, ensuring they uphold the highest standards of patient care. Your involvement will be key in organising clinical review programs aimed at improving quality assurance across the unit.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, the role will require your participation in the after-hours roster, offering an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience in acute care. You will also assist in the postgraduate teaching program, contributing to the development of future specialists in the field of spinal medicine. This is a challenging yet rewarding role for a dynamic individual who is keen to deepen their expertise in spinal surgery and make a meaningful impact in patient care and education.
To thrive in this role, you will possess the following key qualities:
- Qualifications: MBBS or equivalent, with postgraduate training in Spinal Surgery or Neurosurgery, and eligible for AHPRA registration.
- Clinical & Leadership Skills: Proven ability to supervise junior staff, manage patient care, and demonstrate strong clinical skills within a neurosurgical department.
