Role:
Delmock Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Splunk Engineer with a strong foundational knowledge of Splunk engineering to join our client, the Department of Homeland Security, on their CDM DEFEND Operations team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive data analysis to identify anomalies and trends, creating dashboards that effectively showcase key metrics and insights.
- Collaborate with the CDM team to prepare, deploy, and maintain Splunk applications, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.
- Oversee Splunk deployments in Windows and Linux environments, including editing and maintaining configuration files and apps.
- Gain a deep understanding of the customer’s technical environment, serving as the primary technical liaison for integration-related activities.
- Maintain proficiency with artifacts and data dictionaries that underpin CDM data reporting, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Provide deployment and management support for distributed Splunk environments, including heavy forwarders, indexers, and search heads, while addressing security, performance, and operational needs.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 3+ years of Splunk Enterprise hands-on experience (to include writing Splunk queries in SPL)
- 3+ years of experience with Linux OS, services, daemons, containers, and VMs
- 2+ years of experience with designing, implementing, configuring, and operating IT systems or security infrastructure
- 1+ year experience with CDM tools and agencies, including CDM tools and the role they play in government environments
- Experience with working in large federal agency environments, including GSA, HHS, NASA, SSA, or Treasury
- Experience with data aggregation, SIEM software, and dashboard engineering reporting
Preferred/Nice to Have Skills:
- Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin (or higher)
- Experience with Cyber Security tools and technologies
- Knowledge of federal information security policies and risk management processes for enterprise systems
- Experience with working in large federal agency environments, including GSA, HHS, NASA, SSA, or Treasury
