JOB SUMMARY

The Sponsoed Programs Funding Administrator will work on a team to provide general or specialized pre and post award support for proposals and contracts. This position will be responsible for meeting Just in Time deadlines, identifying deviations, reviewing newly awarded projects, and resolving discrepancies found in proposals and contracts. Serve as liaison to the sponsor and partner with Business Office, Faculty, and other University personnel in efforts to help process awards more efficiently. Manage Just In Time request and newly awarded projects to enhance the overall sponsor funding process.

Responsibilities:

  • Proposal and New Award Review - Partner with Principal Investigators in Just In Time requests. Review proposal submission documentation to ensure proper SPS, Office of Research and other University Offices and areas were included (e.g., Contracting, Export Control, and Regulatory). Analyze and interpret sponsor guidelines and make recommendations to Principal Investigators for responses to sponsor requests. Collaborate with other departments, institutions, and universities to resolve various issues relative to Just In Time request. Review and analyze new notice of awards. Assure that the award/contract meets all sponsor and university guidelines. Audit budget, budget justification, subcontract, and cost sharing documentation. Reconcile discrepancies as needed by working with the respective teams (e.g. Subawards, Pre-Award, Contracting, Export Controls). Upload Notice of Award for internal processing
  • Sponsor Liaison - Interpret Uniform Guidance, University and sponsor regulations to collectively work with the sponsors in meeting compliance requirements. Develop relationships with sponsor personnel while monitoring developments/changes within sponsoring agency. Continuously monitor sponsor, federal or university policy changes and update resources in Post Award.
  • Pre and Post Award Outreach and Liaison - Partner with Business Office staff, faculty, and other University personnel in the oversight of proposals and contracts. Work proactively to avoid problems and/or identify issues and work with others to resolve any issues in a timely manner. Provide guidance to business offices, PI’s, and others on complex questions to ensure compliance with the award terms and conditions, ensuring uniform guidance, and Purdue Policies are followed. May assist with trainings to both the SPS group and business offices across campus.
  • Other - Coordinate and/or assist with other activities, special projects, and reports. May serve on committee work. Perform other duties as requested.
