Haymarket Business Media (HBM) is a successful international specialist media company. We have over 60 market-leading brands, connecting people and communities across digital, print, festivals, awards, conferences, and exhibitions.
This is a brand new position, created to sell high-value sponsorship solutions across HBM’s portfolio of B2B live events.
Our breadth of live events spans specialist markets in the UK. At the heart of these events are news and information brands including Campaign, Hort Week, GP, Planning, C&IT and Windpower.
Our existing sales teams sit within these specific brand teams. This position is unique in that it operates centrally throughout HBM, across all brands.
We’re looking for a sponsorship expert. Working with the Head of Sales, Director of Events, and the Head of Awards and Forums, you will also be responsible for developing HBM’s overall live commercial sponsorship strategy.
You’ll have challenger-sales skills, including high-level conversations with C-suite clients. You’ll get to the root of their business needs, creating transformational, long-term partnerships.
You will generate new business from untapped clients and sectors, helping lead strategic growth across our portfolio of awards, conferences, forums and custom solutions.
You’ll collaborate heavily with the brand sales and editorial teams, using their market expertise to tactically identify targets and generate qualified opportunities, working closely with the live events teams who deliver over 70 events a year.
While there are no direct reports, core to this role is effective collaboration, and the ability to mentor and train HBM’s existing sales teams.
You will also build a central pitch-team (made up, where necessary, of marketers, content-creators, event managers and sector experts from within the business), to deliver high-impact, compelling pitches to groups of decision makers in a live setting.
This is a top-level strategic and client-facing role.
We’re looking for a self-starter with outstanding sales skills, attention to detail and an innovative approach. Someone to add fresh thinking to existing projects, and filter down expertise throughout the business. Someone with a specialist sponsorship sales background.
This role is reserved for a proven expert with a track record of securing high-value sponsorship deals.
Responsibilities:
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 8 years’ specialist sponsorship sales experience in a live environment (awards, conferences, exhibitions)
- Strong experience of leading transformative sponsorship strategies
- Proven track record of winning 6-figure sponsorship deals
