Description:

Bedford Modern School (BMS) is an outstanding HMC independent co-educational day school for students aged 7-18. Our community is a friendly, happy and supportive one and all of the 350 staff members, spanning both teaching and non-teaching roles, help to make BMS a very special place to work.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably experienced administrator to join our friendly school office team. Your duties will be varied but will mainly involve providing admin support to the Sports faculty to assist in organising sporting events and fixtures, dealing with enquiries from students, staff and parents and coordinating transport and catering. As part of the school office team you will also support reception when needed.
Ideally applicants will have admin experience in an educational or similar setting and/or experience working with children and young people coupled with a good standard of education and strong organisational skills.
You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, be committed to high standard of customer service and be willing to be flexible about your working hours to assistant with activities outside the school day.
In return, we can offer a friendly and supportive working environment, CPD opportunities available through our membership of the Harpur Trust, the option to be part of a private healthcare scheme, a generous pension scheme, free lunches (in term time) and free parking. The post will be 35 hours per week, term time only with the possibility to work additional hours during the school holidays as agreed with the School Operations Manager. We encourage applications from all communities as we want to have a workforce that reflects the social, cultural and ethnic diversity of our students.
