Position Purpose: The Sports Official holds the responsibility to officiate youth sports in accordance with YMCA goals and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 18 years of age or older
- HS diploma/GED preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years officiating sports
- Possesses advanced knowledge of the sport
- Display appropriate maturity level and ability to relate to all ages and ability levels
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
Responsibilities:
- Act in accordance with YMCA of the USA Youth Sports policies and procedures at all times.
- Build relationships with participants, parents, coaches, and officials.
- Maintain a safe sports environment at all times. Make sure that non-participants are not interfering with game play or participation of team members.
- Conduct a coaches’ meeting before each game.
- Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
