Description:

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Operate our current sports presentation technology infrastructure, which includes but is not limited to: NewTek NDI, Dante (Sound), vMix, 3Play, Blackmagic Design live production switches, Daktronics show control and RTS talkback solution systems.
  • Evaluate and review the performance, functionality, and suitability of the existing technologies for our presentation needs whilst identifying new trends and capabilities.
  • Continue to grow the relationship and explore other skills of our existing third party matchday presentation providers and their staff.
  • Review and improve the effectiveness of our internal processes and people’s capabilities in delivering a consistently high quality matchday presentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise throughout the implementation process, ensuring the technology meets the desired objectives.
  • Train relevant staff members on the proper use and maintenance of the upgraded sports presentation technology and make sure that the 3rd party contractor is involved throughout and support and maintenance (if required).
  • Document processes and have a full O&M file of systems, including modifications made, lessons learned, and best practices for future reference.
  • Manage and support the technology and schedule equipment suppliers to provide planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all the stadium AV infrastructure.
  • Create a process driven consistent approach to AV support for the C&E business on a room per room basis allowing for overlay, if need be.
  • In the short term, operate, manage, and maintain the AV in the Gtech whilst BFC review and assess whether a 3rd party AV support/maintenance company is required.
  • Understand the requirements needed by the C&E team and assist with servicing/ supporting the AV element to the C&E business.
  • Advise and help shape the AV operating model for the medium term.
  • Provide a serviced relationship between Stadium Operations, Catering and Technology.
  • Collaborate with event organisers and production teams to understand their AV requirements and translate them into technical specifications (if required) and be available for site visits for additional upsell of equipment hire.
  • If required - Design and set up our inhouse AV systems, including sound, lighting, video, and other related equipment, to meet the specific needs of each event.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot AV equipment, such as projectors, sound systems, microphones, video screens, and lighting fixtures.
  • Conduct thorough testing and quality checks on AV systems before and after events to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Operate and manage AV equipment during conferences, events, and other activities, ensuring seamless audio and visual experiences for attendees.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for the provision of additional AV equipment (Overlay) or technical support as needed.
  • Maintain an inventory of AV equipment, including spares, ensuring all items are properly stored, accounted for, and maintained in good working condition.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to event staff and presenters, addressing any AV-related issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Stay up to date with emerging AV technologies, trends, and best practices, and recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance the overall AV experience at the stadium.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and protocols while operating and maintaining AV systems.

THE ROLE OF THE SPORTS PRESENTATION & AV ENGINEER

We are seeking an experienced Sports Presentation & AV Engineer to join our team having total responsibility for our matchday Sports Presentation deliverable and lead with in-house AV support and delivery for the club’s conference & Events (C&E) business outside matchdays.

The individual will be required to:

  • Operate the existing sports presentation technology infrastructure, specifically NewTek NDI, Dante, vMix, 3Play, Blackmagic Design live production switches, Daktronics show control and RTS talkback solution systems.
  • Assess the capability and fit for purpose nature of these technologies and identify areas for immediate improvement, both for current requirements and also for future business needs.
  • Audit our internal processes in running and operating matchday presentations, including assessing the capability of our third-party providers and our internal staff.
  • Review systems and practices and identify some new trends and necessary upgrades and enhancements required to enhance the sports presentation technology for the long term.

This role requires strong technical expertise in AV systems, a deep understanding of sports presentation requirements, and excellent project management skills
