JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is responsible for spraying concrete support underground by the proper operation of shotcrete equipment. Applying fibrecrete according to the required consistency and depth as determined by the applicable ground support regime or as directed by geotechnical assessment.

  • Oversee all activities associated with the batching of concrete aggregate and additives (including fibres) according to the requirements prescribed in the ground control management plan or as directed by the geotechnical engineers
  • Stocktake all batch plant aggregates and additives to ensure stock levels are maintained to meet weekly forecasts
  • Ensure that regular QAQC (cylinders and slump) testing is conducted to achieve required concrete strength and integrity
  • Ensure depth testing is carried out during spraying operations and complete the heading profile sheet accurately with all relevant information
  • Inspect the work area and plant for hazards, damage and defects; reporting immediately to the Shift Supervisor
  • Read and understand ground conditions and ground support designs.
  • Conduct housekeeping activities including post shotcreting clean-up..

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fully certified for Batch Plant, Agitator Unit and Spraymec operation
  • Passed out as competent Underground Service Crew
  • Full and current drivers’ licence; and competent driving manual vehicles
  • A minimum of 3 years underground mining experience; and
  • Competent as a concrete agitator operator in an underground mine, including the use of batch plant
