FLEXIBILITY STATEMENT
The fast moving nature of the company’s business means that from time to time you may be asked to perform duties or tasks outside of your original job description on an ad hoc basis. This allows the company to use its people in the best possible way at all times and helps the employees to make their contribution in a changing environment.
Ecotricity is Britain’s greenest energy company. When we started back in 1995, we were the first company in the world to provide a new kind of electricity - the green kind.
Our mission was, and remains, to change the way energy is made and used in Britain - by replacing fossil fuels with clean, renewable energy.
We don’t just supply green energy, we use the money from our customers’ bills to make it ourselves too - we build windmills, sun parks and green gasmills in Britain. We call this turning ‘bills into mills’. Some of our biggest achievements to date include building Britain’s first megawatt windmill and the country’s first grid-scale sun park, as well as building our first green gasmill, generating 100% green gas from a source that we will never run out of - grass.
We don’t just focus on energy though- we built the Electric Highway, Britain’s leading network of electric vehicle charging points; we helped Forest Green Rovers become the greenest football club in the world; and we launched Britain’s greenest mobile phone service, Ecotalk, where they use the money from their customers’ bills to protect and regenerate Britain’s lost rainforests.
Ecotricity is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to providing equality for all

ABOUT THE ROLE
We do an awful lot in the Trading team at Ecotricity. As well as purchasing all of the electricity, gas and renewable certificates for all 190,000 (and counting) customers, we are the team that is responsible for all of the customer pricing, forecasting, and cost/profitability analysis.
We love numbers, complex systems, and working out amazing ways to analyse data, use it, and share it in insightful ways. It would be fair to say that we are often at the cutting edge of a forward thinking energy company, and are constantly developing, adapting, and finding new ways of doing things. From battery storage development, to automated trading, it’s an exciting time for energy trading in Ecotricity.
For the right candidate, this role represents a unique opportunity to be part of a growing team in a fast paced and highly challenging environment.
OVERALL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Sitting as part of the Pricing team, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing the automated pricing systems, which are used for not only our B2B quoting activity, but also profitability analysis on our customer base.
These models are always needing to adapt to industry changes, and how as a business we want to understand our customers from a commercial perspective. Given the complexity of how costs blend together in retail supply, it’s a full time job to keep these developed and as efficient as possible.
This function is a critical part of the business. The models owned and operated by the team represent the decisions for areas of the business that represent the majority of revenue for Ecotricity Group.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing and maintaining the core automated pricing system, which is used for B2B quoting activity, portfolio profitability analysis, and tariff development.
- Working with the commercial cost analyst to ensure the cost stack is accurately reflected in the modelling framework.
- Working with the sales team to develop front end tools to help create efficiencies and flexibility in pricing for prospects.
- Working with stakeholders – profitability analysts, pricing analysts, managers, to ensure the models and systems meet their requirements.
