Description:
Job Title: Sr. Accountant
Reports To: VP Finance
Job Summary: The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for accurate and timely reporting of financial information. This requires recording, verifying, and analysis of financial data. The Sr. Accountant is also involved in treasury and cash flow management processes. A strong team environment will provide opportunity to supervise and mentor other team members. There will also be opportunity to get involved in special projects such as acquisitions, process changes, and capital purchase reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of practical accounting experience
- Accounting degree/Accounting Diploma or equivalent years of experience
- Professional accounting designation (CPA) required
- Experience with SAGE 300 is considered an asset

Responsibilities:
- Month end financial statement preparation and review
- Contribute to quarterly financial reporting to Executive and Board of Directors
- Year-end financial statement preparation and review
- Management of monthly closing cycle for several companies
- Accounts Receivable
- Oversee duties
- Transactional duties on an “as needed” basis
- Provide training
- Accounts Payable
- Oversee duties
- Transactional duties on an “as needed” basis
- Provide training
- Review bi-weekly payables for payment
- Follow up with managers regarding vendor invoices
- Budget, forecasts and analysis
- Assist in preparation of the budget templates and processes
- Review monthly budgets and make recommendations to forecasts
- Policy and Procedure development and implementation
- Cash flow management including short term forecasting
- Assist in the hiring of accounting personnel
- Assist in the performance reviews of accounting personnel
- All other duties as requested by the Controller and VP Finance
