Sr. Accountant

Amanda Warren with Robert Half is in search of a meticulous Sr. Accountant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing financial systems and processes in the agricultural manufacturing sector. You will work on a broad range of financial tasks, ensuring that our financial health is maintained and influencing the continued success and growth of our organization.

• Oversee the preparation of accounting reports and financial statements, ensuring their completeness and compliance with accounting standards
• Handle the accurate and timely posting of transactions by reviewing general ledger activities
• Facilitate monthly close procedures, including the maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts
• Supervise and maintain an organized system for fixed assets
• Participate in budgeting standards setting and perform budget variance analyses
• Assist in audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Manage, coordinate, and track fixed assets to ensure timely and accurate policy implementation
• Prepare complex journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Must hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting
• Demonstrated experience with account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Proficiency in handling general ledger and journal entries
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel with the ability to handle complex functions
• Experience in month-end close procedures
• Knowledge of fixed asset accounting is essential
• CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles and regulations
• High ethical standards and professionalism, as it relates to handling sensitive and confidential information.
