Description:

We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the oil and gas industry, located in Houston, Texas. The role involves managing daily payment cycle activities, overseeing general ledger accounting, and conducting financial reporting. The workplace is dynamic, and the role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of payment cycle activities efficiently
  • Carry out general ledger accounting activities and ensure accuracy of records
  • Perform regular account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and manage monthly financial reports and month-end close procedures
  • Ensure all financial reporting complies with company policies and regulations
  • Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, and monitor customer accounts for necessary action
  • Coordinate complex accounting projects with other members of the accounting and finance team
  • Initiate and manage cost reduction plans and procedures
  • Handle the preparation of regular reports on expense, investments, and cash management.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant.
  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required.
  • Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation is necessary.
  • Applicants should have a demonstrated ability to perform Bank Reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with General Ledger management is a must.
  • Candidates should have experience with Journal Entries.
  • The role requires the ability to handle Month End Close procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience in Monthly Financial Close processes are needed.
  • Applicants should have experience in managing Monthly Accruals.
  • Proficiency in preparing and presenting Monthly Financial Reports is required.
