Description:
We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant with heavy rebate accounting experience! This role primarily focuses on the retail sector and involves key accounting operations, including full cycle rebate accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the process of customer credit applications to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Responsible for the reconciliation of income statements.
- Handle the maintenance of customer credit records.
- Conduct general ledger operations and prepare journal entries.
- Execute adjustments entries as required.
- Engage in detailed account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and financial analysis.
- Oversee the month-end close procedures.
- Handle rebate accounting operations and reporting.
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Must hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role is required
- Proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation
- Experience in bank reconciliations is mandatory
- Must have knowledge of general ledger management
- Ability to perform journal entries with accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary
- Familiarity with month-end close processes
- Experience in managing rebate calculations and applications
- Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations
- Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations
- Must be legally eligible to work in the specified location.
