Description:
Robert Half has an exciting opening for a Sr. Accountant in Iselin, New Jersey. In this role, you will be expected to manage various accounting duties, ranging from payroll and bank reconciliations to general ledger maintenance and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Handle the daily posting of deposits and check issuance
- Conduct day-to-day accounting tasks
- Carry out account reconciliation to ensure the accuracy of transactions
- Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions
- Update and maintain the general ledger regularly
- Reconcile entries into the accounting system
- Generate financial reports as required
- Perform collection duties as necessary
- Record debits and credits accurately
- Maintain the trial balance by reconciling general ledgers
- Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations
- Extensive knowledge of the General Ledger and Journal Entries
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Month End Close procedures
- Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Professional certification such as CPA is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles
- Proficient in managing large amounts of data
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to accounting.
