Description:

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. As the Sr. Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks such as processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling books, and maintaining accurate financial statements.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely manner
  • Reconciling bank statements and maintaining accurate records
  • Preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger
  • Ensuring month-end and year-end tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Maintaining accurate financial statements and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Handling daily deposits and billing procedures
  • Managing accruals effectively
  • Processing debit and credit transactions as necessary
  • Assisting with other accounting tasks as needed

This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

  • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform Bank Reconciliations
  • Experience with General Ledger management
  • Familiarity with Journal Entries preparation
  • Skilled in Month End Close procedures
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Prior experience in a senior accounting role
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis and prepare financial reports
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
