Description:
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant with manufacturing client in the Downtown Chattanooga area, As a Sr. Accountant you will be responsible for a range of accounting duties, including Accounts Receivable, Credit & Collections, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management of cash application, collection, and debit memo processing for all customers.
- Conduct routine aging analysis and debit memo summary reporting.
- Handle systematic communication with customers whose accounts are past due to inform them of their account status and to request timely payments.
- Prepare, print, and distribute check runs weekly and manual checks as required.
- Provide back-up and assistance for salary and hourly payroll processing.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliation and analysis of transactional accounts.
- Assist with month and year closing, including working with internal and external auditors.
- Manage the tracking and reconciliation of capital expenditures.
- Produce various daily, weekly, and monthly reports as requested.
- Assist with special projects to support departmental goals and objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Experience with commercial collections
- Demonstrated capability in Payroll management
- Familiarity with Monthly Journal Entries and Month End Close processes
- Experience in Ledger Reconciliations
- Proficient in using ERP accounting systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of current financial regulations and accounting principles.
