Description:

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Marlboro, Massachusetts. This role focuses on supporting the month-end close process, preparing financial reporting packages, and performing analysis on trends, variances, and opportunities. The successful candidate will also be involved in creating workflow instructions/SOPs for new tasks and assisting with annual budget preparation.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages, including detailed analysis and commentary.
  • Perform detailed analysis on financial trends, variances, and opportunities, identifying anomalies and researching issues as they arise.
  • Assist in the creation of workflow instructions/SOPs for new tasks, particularly regarding the migration to S4 Hana.
  • Contribute to annual budget preparation by providing detailed and accurate financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Utilize software tools such as SAP and Microsoft Excel to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform account reconciliation activities to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to enhance workflows and processes.
  • Proficiency in account reconciliation is a key requirement for this role.
  • Prior experience with journal entries is necessary for the successful execution of job duties.
  • Experience with month-end close processes is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required for the role.
  • The role requires strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for effective team collaboration.
  • Candidates should have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in a similar role or industry is highly desirable.
