Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting, the Senior Accountant will serve an integral role in the close process. This role’s primary focus will be fixed assets and will involve journal entries, maintaining fixed asset records, researching and resolving accounting issues, and implementing control and process improvements. The accountant will also assist with additional general ledger processes and journal entries including accruals and allocation.
SKILLS:
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (including VLookup and Pivot tables).
Strong analytical background.
Teamwork: Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Task Management: Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight month-end close deadlines.
Software Proficiency: Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:
Manage fixed asset accounting: additions, disposals, capital leases, construction in progress, and capitalized software.
Review capital expenditures for compliance with policies and accurate general ledger coding.
Provide data to the internal tax team for property and sales/use tax returns.
Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations and rollforward for fixed assets.
Prepare fixed asset journal entries.
Assist with other general ledger processes, including accruals and allocations.
Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts.
Support annual external audits.
Complete ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Degree in accounting or related field.
Experience: 3-4 years in accounting (industry or accounting firm); retail and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
