Description:
We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a skilled Sr. Cost Accountant in the manufacturing industry. This role is at our workplace in Boise, Idaho, United States. You will be instrumental in maintaining our financial records, including general accounting, lease and fixed asset accounting in line with GAAP standards.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset accounts ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide general accounting support to the accounting department.
- Manage the Fixed Asset System (FAS) and ensure its seamless operation.
- Prepare and update roll forward schedules as necessary.
- Handle 842 lease accounting tasks in compliance with relevant standards.
- Oversee Construction in Progress (CIP) schedules, ensuring all are up-to-date.
- Be responsible for fixed asset additions, ensuring they are correctly recorded and accounted for.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP Accounting principles in all accounting tasks.
- Solve any arising issues or discrepancies in financial reports.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Must possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
- Proficient in GAAP Accounting, Lease Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, and Fixed Asset Additions.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in using financial software and databases.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare, review, and understand financial statements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
