Description:
We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to be an integral part of our team in the construction/contractor industry situated in Alpharetta, Georgia. This role provides an avenue to contribute to our operations by managing our financial information and processes. You will be entrusted with functions such as account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and handling general ledger entries. This job offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Execute account reconciliation tasks to ensure accuracy and consistency of accounting data.
- Handle balance sheet reconciliation, scrutinizing and resolving any discrepancies found.
- Conduct bank reconciliations, verifying and correcting data as necessary.
- Manage the general ledger, recording and analyzing financial information.
- Prepare journal entries, ensuring accurate representation of business transactions.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for various tasks, including data analysis and report generation.
- Handle month-end close processes, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Operate NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software for various accounting and financial functions.
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred
- Proven experience in a senior accounting role within the construction or contractor industry
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
- Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software is essential
- Ability to perform account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations
- Knowledge of General Ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process
- Experience in preparing and posting journal entries
- Strong analytical skills to analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
- Excellent communication skills to present financial information to non-financial team members and stakeholders
- Good understanding of construction accounting principles, laws and regulations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
